Spain: Linde Solidaria – Showing Solidarity All Year Round

Linde MH Ibérica launched the Linde Solidaria initiative in 2007 to help people with physical or mental disabilities in Spain. The idea stemmed from the decision to support local charities instead of sending Christmas gifts to customers. Today, in what has become an annual tradition, several hundred employees and their families take part in the Fiestas Solidarias by volunteering for selected charities and collecting cash and non-cash donations.

In 2022, we were able to support five different charities:

• CEIP La Laguna, La Palma (EUR 10,000)
• Afadi, Sevilla (EUR 2,000)
• Fundació Arc de Sant Martí, Barcelona (EUR 2,000)
• Colegio CEPRI, Madrid (EUR 2,000)
• CERCIMA – Cooperativa de Educação, Reabilitação, Capacitação e Inclusão de Montijo e Alcochete, Lisbon (EUR 2,000)

Germany: StaplerCup hilft e. V. – Stacking to Help Out

For more than 15 years, the StaplerCup has put forklift truck drivers’ driving and balancing skills to the test across several disciplines. Teams from different countries go head to head in the NationsCup, the annual German championship selects the best women’s team and men’s team, and the Company Team Championship sees forklift truck drivers from different companies show off their skills in maneuvering industrial trucks. Trainees at the Aschaffenburg plant organize a raffle during the competition with the support of the non-profit association StaplerCup hilft e. V. In 2022, EUR 3,000 from the raffle ticket sales were donated to the Aschaffenburg branch of the German Child Protection Association (Kreisverband Aschaffenburg des Deutschen Kinderschutzbunds). This local group of volunteers helps to integrate disadvantaged children in the regions of Aschaffenburg, Alzenau, and Miltenberg. As well as offering support in schools, it uses educational projects like learning support to teach children learning methods and cultural values. An additional EUR 5,000 were donated to the Förderkreis für die Kinderklinik Aschaffenburg e. V., which has been supporting the Aschaffenburg children’s hospital with fundraising and helpful ideas since March 2008.

France: Restaurants du Cœur – No Empty Tummies

Fenwick, the French subsidiary of Linde MH, has long been committed to helping those in need. Since 1985, it has been working with Restaurants du Cœur, an initiative that distributes food and non-cash donations to people affected by poverty. All Fenwick employees have the opportunity to take part in a volunteer day, where they approach customers outside supermarkets and ask them to donate food and toiletries. Fenwick also provides technical equipment to help distribute the donations and hundreds of its employees lend a hand with this each year. In 2022, the donations collected by Restaurants du Cœur paid for 8,700,000 meals.
