2. What sustainability targets is Linde MH pursuing?

As part of the KION Group, Linde MH pursues the targets of the KION sustainability strategy. Key targets include:

  • reducing the accident frequency rate by at least 5 percent every year;

  • continuously increasing the number of products with an available life cycle assessment;

  • continuously increasing the number of products with Cradle-to-Cradle certification;

  • reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42 percent by 2030 compared with 2021;

  • reducing Scope 3 emissions from the use of products sold by at least 25 percent by 2030 compared with 2021;

  • achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050 at the latest;

  • increasing the proportion of waste recovered in the company’s own operations to at least 85 percent by 2030;

  • increasing the share of expenditure allocated to Tier-1 direct A suppliers with low ESG risk to 80 percent by 2030.

Linde MH implements these targets within the three strategic dimensions People, Products and Processes. These dimensions provide the framework for KION’s seven sustainability action fields.

3. Which electric drive and energy technologies does Linde MH offer?

Linde MH offers electric drives with lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries as well as fuel-cell drives. Electric forklift trucks can be an equally powerful alternative to internal combustion engine trucks, even in demanding applications. When hydrogen from renewable energies is used, fuel-cell trucks can operate virtually emission-free. HVO is also approved as an alternative fuel for internal combustion engine trucks.

4. How many electric vehicles did Linde MH sell in 2025?

In 2025, 91 percent of the vehicles sold by Linde MH were equipped with an electric drive. This figure is based on the number of units ordered in new business order intake.

5. How powerful are Linde MH’s electric forklift trucks?

Even in demanding applications, the electrically powered X models offer an equally powerful alternative to internal combustion engine forklift trucks thanks to their high power and robust design — without compromising on performance.

6. What solutions does Linde MH offer for specific customer applications?

At the customer’s request, Linde MH offers the factory integration of fuel cells into its industrial trucks as well as the “fuel cell ready” option. When hydrogen from renewable energies is used, the fleet can operate virtually emission-free. The technology is particularly suitable for applications requiring high availability, short refueling times or specific energy infrastructure and operational conditions.

7. How can Linde MH products reduce energy consumption and emissions during operation?

Linde MH supports customers with electric drives, efficient lithium-ion batteries and suitable energy systems. The batteries have an energy efficiency of over 90 percent and can reduce energy consumption by around 30 percent compared with a conventional battery-charger combination. With the Energy Calculator 2.0, Linde MH helps customers select the right battery and charging system based on energy consumption, CO2 impact and cost. HVO can be used for diesel forklift trucks, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90 percent compared with conventional diesel.

8. How does Linde MH support customers in selecting the right energy system?

Linde MH provides customers with individual advice on selecting the right drive and energy system for their fleet. The consultation takes into account the customer’s operating conditions, cost requirements and sustainability goals. The Energy Calculator 2.0 can simulate different combinations of batteries and chargers and compare energy consumption, CO2 impact and the relevant costs. This provides a sound basis for selecting an economical and sustainable energy solution.

9. How does digital connectivity support the efficient and sustainable use of Linde MH industrial trucks?

The new generation of Linde MH industrial trucks features a modern electrical and electronic system architecture as well as data transfer via cellular networks and Wi-Fi. This provides the basis for telematics applications, remote updates, remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The trucks can be operated more efficiently, integrated more effectively into fleet and warehouse management systems, and used for longer. This helps reduce resource consumption and can lower total cost of ownership.

10. What rental and used-truck solutions does Linde MH offer?

Linde MH offers leasing, long-term rental, rental and refurbished used trucks. Its rental fleet comprises around 41,000 trucks.

11. How does Linde MH refurbish used forklift trucks for resale?

Linde MH refurbishes used forklift trucks in accordance with standardized specifications and strict guidelines. The trucks come either from the company’s own rental fleet or are leasing returns. Following the refurbishment process, they are returned to the market as “Approved Trucks.” In 2025, Linde MH gave 32,168 used trucks in the EMEA region a second life.

12. How does Linde MH recycle used lithium-ion batteries?

Lithium-ion batteries that have reached the end of their useful life are sent by Linde MH to Glencore Battery Recycling GmbH. There, the batteries are disassembled into their composite parts and recycled by material type, allowing the resources they contain to be recovered and reused. In 2025, Linde MH returned nearly 10 metric tons of battery modules — equivalent to 343 batteries — to Glencore Battery Recycling GmbH for processing in the established recycling process.

13. How does Linde MH take sustainability into account when developing vehicles and solutions?

Linde MH aims to take sustainability into account throughout all phases of the product life cycle. These include design, production, use, maintenance, repair and end-of-life. Linde MH uses life cycle assessments to incorporate environmental aspects into product development. In 2025, sustainability aspects were also integrated into the product development process in a more structured way through the new “Product Sustainability Alignment” process.

14. For which Linde MH products are life cycle assessments available?

In 2025, life cycle assessments were newly prepared for four Linde forklift truck series. In addition, the product-related carbon footprint of the Linde N20 order picker was updated and independently verified in accordance with ISO 14067.
